Departure (Taio Cruz album)

Departure is the debut album by British R & B and pop singer Taio Cruz (name shown on the album with TΛIO CRUZ ). It was first published on March 17, 2008. The album was produced entirely by Cruz himself. Tim Kellett co-wrote Never Gonna Get Us and mastered album of Streaky.

Background

Cruz told Digital Spy that he had tried to produce an album where every song as a single could be released. Compared with Blues & Soul, he told me that he make the tracks in the album different, but nothing too daring, I want to try. By his own testimony, the album has few similarities with albums of other musicians in the genre.

Chart success and awards

Album

The album has reached number 17 on the British charts. We stayed a total of 27 weeks at this. On 5 September 2008, the album sold 100,000 units for was awarded by the BPI with gold.

Singles

Six singles were released from the album. The first, I Just Wanna Know, was released on 6 November 2006. Could you reach number 29 on the British charts. As a second single Moving On was released on 10 September 2007. She was number 26 in the UK. The third release ( 3 March 2008) was Come On Girl, this was the only one to reach the Top 10 in the UK with fifth place. I Can Be, published on 26 May 2008, recorded an 18th place in the UK Singles Chart and She's Like a Star was after the publication on 11 August 2008 rising to number 20. As a last single I Just Wanna Know '08 was released on November 10th 2008, a different version of his song I Just Wanna Know from the year 2006. Charts were missed.

Criticism

The album received mixed reviews. Said Jon O'Brien of Allmusic that departure would be for an artist who is testing his room, listen to, but if one would look at the clichéd R & B tracks more closely, one can Cruz ' later ability to produce hits out hear. He missed three out of five stars. Alex Macpherson of The Guardian also awarded three stars and said that Cruz would falter in part, it's all in all, however, would be an imaginative debut. Paul Clarke of BBC gave a positive review, but wrote that it was based on the American R & B take on the British listen more.
