Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency

The Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency ( DD / CIA) is a government official of the United States of America and senior executive of the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Service, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The current DD / CIA is Avril Haines.

History

As part of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of November 2004, in which the Office of the Director of Central Intelligence (DCI ) was digested in the offices of the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency ( D / CIA) and Director of National Intelligence ( DNI), the office of Deputy Director of Central Intelligence ( DCI) in the offices of Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency ( DD / CIA), as well as in that of the Deputy Director of National Intelligence ( DDNI ) was digested.

Appointment

Officially it is for the D / CIA, whom he uses as his deputy. However, the opinion of the President plays a fundamental role in the filling of the post.

In contrast to the appointment of the D / CIA for the appointment of DD / CIA is required by current law, not the approval by the U.S. Senate.

Task
