Der Hamburger und Germania Ruder Club

The hamburgers and Germania Rowing Club ( DHuGRC ) is a traditional rowing club in Hamburg's Rotherbaum in the district Hamburg -Eimsbuettel. The club is located on the west side of the outer Alster lake.

Founded in June 1836 when the Hamburg Rowing Club ( DHRC ), it is not only the oldest rowing club in Germany, but also documented the birth of rowing in Germany. In 1934 he teamed up with the set up in Hamburg in April 1853 Germania Rowing Club (GRC ). The name refers to the Nationalallegorie Germania.
