Derek Temple

Derek Temple ( born November 13, 1938 in Liverpool ) is a former English footballer.

Life and career

Temple began his career in 1957 at Everton at the age of 19 years. The Englishman remained loyal to the Toffees in 1967. While Harry Catterick was coach of FC Everton, he became a left midfielder. In the championship season Temple was not a single game due to surgery on his knee. In 1966, he won the FA Cup, where he played the full 90 minutes in the final. At that time he was called the first and last time for the England football team. He was allowed to ran against Germany. 1967 Temple moved to Preston North End for the transfer fee of £ 35,000. In 1970 he joined for two further years to Wigan Athletic, after he ended his active career.
