Dermocybe

Dermocybe sp.

The skin heads ( Dermocybe ) represent a subgenus of the genus veil Linge ( Cortinarius ).

Main features are extractable anthraquinone pigments that give these fungi bold colors and some of which are suitable for dyeing textiles. Because of these ingredients, the skin heads by some taxonomists are separated as a distinct genus of the veil Lingen.

The subgenus contains over 20 recognized species and a number of uncertain taxa.

Description

  • The cap diameter is from 1 to 8 cm; the shape is convex, conical to bell-shaped, often hunched, but never deepened. The Hutdeckschicht is dry often silky shiny, bald, felted, fibrous to faserigschuppig. The brim is never striate, with rare Cortinaresten. The hat is vividly colored, while yellow come up green, orange to red and red-brown to brown tones before. If dry, the bright hats often clear, but without being hygrophanous.
  • The stem usually sits centrally on the hat on, the foot is never thickened bulbous, but sometimes rooted. He is just like the hat most strongly colored. The surface is gegürtelt, genattert or provided with rather inconspicuous Velumresten.
  • The fins are yellow when young olive green to orange -brown to red or reddish brown to. With increasing Sporenreife they are getting darker. Not infrequently, they stand in stark contrast to the hat color.
  • The meat is rather thin.
  • The taste is often bitter.
  • The color of the spore powder is rust brown.

Microscopic characteristics

  • The spores are 5-10 ( rarely larger ) microns long and ellipsoidal core - to almond-shaped and with fine warts on the surface.

Determination tests

For reliable determination are necessary mushrooms of different ages and an accurate recording of the location ( Mykorrhizapartner ). Other ways of qualifier:

  • Chemical reactions on bases: strong reaction of hat and fins.
  • Soak blotting paper with ethyl alcohol and then place fungus, discoloration of the paper to red, yellow, orange, olive indicate Dermocybe.

Occurrence

The skin heads grow mostly single or few on earth or in moss in deciduous or coniferous forest or in sphagnum bogs. Release time is mainly the autumn to late autumn. You are very likely all Mykorrhizabildner.

Species delimitation

The skin heads are most likely to be confused with other Corti arias. In question representatives come from the subgenera Telamonia and Leprocybe. But Flämmlinge ( Gymnopilus ) and wax caps ( Hygrocybe ) can come up with very similar species.

Feed value

The skin heads are, without exception, inedible, poison suspicious or poisonous species.

System

The subdivision by Sections ( sample type ) are prepared by Bon (2005):

  • Section: sanguinei Blood Red skin head (C. sanguineus)
  • Zimthautkopf (C. cinnamoneus )
