Desert long-eared bat ( Otonycteris hemprichii )

The desert long-eared bat ( Otonycteris hemprichii ) is a species of bat in the family of Myotis bats ( Vespertilionidae ). It is in northern Africa (from Morocco to Egypt and Niger ), in the Arabian Peninsula, and parts of Central Asia ( Kazakhstan to and Kashmir ) home.

The fur of these bats is colored sand color at the top, the bottom is white. Striking it up to 40 millimeters long ears that have grown together at the base. The animals reach a body length of 73-81 mm and a weight of 18 to 20 grams, are somewhat larger than the European long-eared bats.

Habitat of the desert long-eared bats are very dry and barren regions. As Sleeps serve them rock crevices and buildings. At night, they go with a slow, fluttering flight in search of food, where they usually reside close to the bottom. They eat spiders and insects.

Little is known about reproduction. Females form the birth and rearing of the young, nurseries, which are composed of three to 15 animals. Unlike many other Myotis bats are likely among them twin births predominate.
