Detroit Lake

The Detroit Lake is a reservoir in the U.S. state of Oregon ( Northwest), which is formed by the Detroit Dam. It has an area of 14.3 km ² and a maximum depth of 134 m. The average depth is 37 m. Its shoreline measures 51.4 km.

The lake lies at an altitude of 481 m ü.d.M. and is created by the damming of the North Santiam River. It stores water for the city of Salem and its vicinity 74 km away. The lake is mainly used to generate electricity.
