The Germany - Cup 1990 was a unique transferred out competition in which the reigning champion GDR was 1 FC Dynamo Dresden Rudolf- Harbig Stadium against the German champions Bayern Munich 1-0 win.

The competition was inspired by the model of the DFB - Supercup and communications Supercup. The Cup was at the time but ultimately more years of the long-awaited re- encounter of the two major German - German audience magnets which were last taken in successive European Champion Clubs' Cup in 1973/74.

The match took place after the dissolution of the German Football Association of the German Democratic Republic on 27 November 1990, a week. The title itself, in which the FC Bayern did not compete with the first representation, was never officially recognized by the German Football Association. In the same year on 22 August 1990, there was another competition with the name Holsten Germany Cup. This was played out between the fdgb Cup Winner 1st FC Dynamo Dresden and the DFB Cup winners 1.FC Kaiserslautern in Dresden. This game won the 1st FC Kaiserslautern 5-3.
