Dhakeshwari Temple

The Dhakeshwari Temple ( Bengali: ঢাকেশ্বরী মন্দির, Ḍhākeśbarī Mandir ) is the most famous Hindu temple in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The central religious building probably dates from the 11th century. The oldest Hindu temple in the city is the goddess zehnarmigen Dhakeshwari dedicated and presumably the namesake of Dhaka.

The temple is located in the Dhakeshwari Road, and is located just 500 m southwest of the Salimullah Hall of the University of Dhaka. There is a monumental entrance gate, the Nahabatkhana gate.
