Diadora

Diadora is an Italian sportswear manufacturer.

History

The company was founded in 1948 by Marcello Danieli. Since Danieli was a shoemaker, the company specialized in the manufacture of shoes. In the 1950s, Diadora was the Italian leader in mountain boots.

In the 1960s, the company began with the production of ski boots. Inventions such as the first apres ski footwear followed. Next, running shoes were fabricated and shortly thereafter tennis shoes.

Through the 1970s was away the technology of the shoes, in cooperation with athletes such as Guillermo Vilas, Martin Mulligan and Bjorn Borg, continuously improved. Around 1975, the company entered the football market. Supported by players such as Roberto Bettega, the brand was number three on the U.S. soccer equipment market.

Since 30 June 1998 Diadora is part of the Invicta Group.

2008, a joint venture with the Hanverky Holdings Limited was received. Thus, a new company was founded with the name Winor International.
