Dianne Pilkington
Dianne Pilkington ( born June 7, 1975 in Wigan) is a British musical actress and actress.
Work
Pilkington was born in Wigan. She studied at the Guildford School of Acting. After completing her studies, she became a member of the ensemble of Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre, where she was also seen as an understudy of ' Fantine ' and ' Cosette '.
In the field of musical theater in the West End she played ' Marion Dewy ' in Tess at the Savoy Theatre, ' beggar ' in Sweeney Todd at the Bridewell Theatre, ' Protestant ' in The Beautiful Game at the Cambridge Theatre, 'Kim ' in Taboo at the Victoria Palace Theatre, ' Mary' in Tonight's The Night at the Victoria Palace Theatre, ' Snow White ' in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Victoria Palace Theatre, and ' Belinda ' in the Far Pavilions at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
In touring productions, she played Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Grizabella in Cats.
In workshops she sang ' Hope ' in Urinetown, ' Tonya ' in Dr Zhivago, ' Helen ' in Helen of Troy, ' Charlotte ' in Charlotte - Life or Theatre, and ' Meg ' in Love Never Dies. Together with Boy George in she was seen in the concert at the Albert Hall.
Dianne Pilkington is best known as the first cast " Glinda " in the Broadway musical Wicked - The Witches of Oz at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London. She took over on 16 July 2007, the role of Helen Dallimore, after they had previously been been three months whose understudy in the role. She played this role for nearly three years before they finally left the show on 27 March 2010. Her successor as ' Glinda ' is Louise Dearman.
In February 2010, her first film had its premiere. In Wolfman with Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt Dianne Pilkington plays a blind opera singer.
Pilkington had also made some appearances on television, in a West End special episode of The Weakest Link, at Britain's Got Talent and This Morning, where she presented each songs from Wicked, and at The Alan Titchmarsh Show.
Personal life
Pilkington married on 10 October 2010 her partner, the musician Jean -Claude Pelletier.
Awards
Pilkington was nominated for ' Best Takeover Role ' at the 2008 election of theatergoers Awards, but Kerry Ellis (her leading man ) has won. She has won women of the future with Alexia Khadime the ' art and culture woman of the future " at the 2009 awards.
