2,7- dichlorofluorescein is a fluorescent dye selected from the group of triphenylmethane dyes. Is a derivative of fluorescein, which differs from this by two additional chlorine atoms.

Use

A 0.2 % solution of 2,7- dichlorofluorescein in methanol, can be used for the detection of sweeteners in the thin layer chromatography.
