Dick Vitale

Dick Vitale ( born June 9, 1939 in East Rutherford, New Jersey), known as " Dickie V ", is an American sportscaster. Since 1979, he commented on the ESPN basketball games of the NCAA college league. Prior to his commentary career, he was briefly coach, including the University of Detroit ( 1973-77 ) and Detroit Pistons ( 78/79er season). Vitale has become an almost legendary status as a sports reporter and was accepted for his services to the sport in 2008 into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
