Dickey Lee

Dickey Lee (born Richard Lipscomb ) ( born September 21, 1936 in Memphis, Tennessee ) is an American country and rock and roll singer and songwriter.

Even with his school band managed Dickey Lee, to play for a solid program in place local radio; the competent DJ Dickey then gave a solo recording contract with Sun Records. His first two singles that he recorded in 1957 were not very successful; until 1962 he managed with "patches" his first hit, which peaked at position 6 of the charts. Simultaneously, the country singer George Jones had with the book written by Dickey Lee "She Thinks I Still Care," one of his greatest hits. Now the breakthrough had been achieved, with "I Saw Linda Yesterday" (# 14 1963) was followed by another success. After moderate performance of his single Do not Want To Think About Paula, who only reached number 68 of the pop charts, Lee left the label Smash Records and moved in early 1965 to the small label TCF Hall Records, where he was given the opportunity to make his title itself to produce. After his hit " Laurie ( Strange Things Happen ) ," the middle of 1965 reached 14th place, he succeeded with the song The Girl From Peyton Place, which reached No. 73, occupied his last placement in the pop charts until 1976. Until the mid- 1980s, Lee continued to take on plates and even wrote the hit " Lost in Love" for Air Supply, since the end of his record contract with Mercury Records, he steps down occasionally with colleagues from the " old days " on the stage and continues to write pop songs.
