Didier de Saint-Jaille

Fra ' Didier de Saint- Jaille (* in Toulon, † September 26, 1536 in Montpellier ) was a Provencal nobleman and from 1535 until his death in the 46th Grand Master of the Order of Malta.

He came from the Provencal tongue of the Order, where he was Grand Prior of St. Gilles and Toulouse from 1523 to 1536. Initially, he was a simple monk in Toulouse until he was elected in absentia on November 22, 1535 Grand Master. He learned of his election in France and died in less than a year later during the trip to Malta.
