The Suseja at the mill of Gārsene

The Dienvidsusēja is a right tributary of the Memele in Latvia.

The river rises in the city Subate in the landscape Sēlija or Oberlettland in a wetland and flows in a westerly direction. At 4.2 km length it forms the border between Lithuania and Latvia. In Nereta is an artificial lake with a small hydroelectric plant.

The largest tributaries are Zalvīte (36 km), Radžupe (21 km) and Arālīte ( 21 km).
