Dietlinde Turban

Dietlinde Turban ( born August 27, 1957 in Reutlingen) is the birthplace and artist name of Dietlinde Turban - Maazel, a German actress. She is sister of the violinist Ingolf Turban and wife of conductor Lorin Maazel.

Life and career

Turban, born in 1957 in Reutlingen, studied violin, classical dance and singing in Munich. She made her stage debut Dietlinde turban aged 19 years at the Munich Residenz Theater. She played there the Gretchen in a production of Faust. In addition to some other stage appearances as Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's Minna von Barn-helm or as Desdemona in Shakespeare's Othello, she was also seen in TV productions, such as Jenny Treibel in a dream ship or Derrick.

In the stage adaptation of the opera L' Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi (directed by Jean -Pierre Ponnelle, Zurich Opera House, 1977) Dietlinde turban plays Euridice, where Rachel Yakar took over the vocal part for them. In 1982, she received the Hersfeld- price.

In 1989, she took a 15 -year-old creative pause, during which they preferred their children devoted himself. Dietlinde turban lives with her husband Lorin Maazel and three children Leslie, Orson and Tara in Virginia. Other residences has the family in Munich, Monaco and New York.
