Dietmar Peters

Dietmar Peters ( born August 8, 1949 in Grapzow, Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ) is a retired German ice hockey player (defender) and current coach of the youth team of polar bears Juniors Berlin.

Career

Player

Dietmar Peters began with ice hockey in Rostock at the SG Dynamo Rostock time resident. Up to the age of 13 Dietmar Peters played both hockey and football. He denied even two international games for the football student selection of the GDR. Peters decided then but for the sport of ice hockey, at the age of 15 years he played in the men's team Empor Rostock the successor of SG Dynamo Rostock. Restructuring of ice hockey in the GDR should be played in the only in Berlin and in white water, Empor Rostock was dissolved. Therefore, he was offered to go to the SC Dynamo Berlin, which he did along with his brother Roland Peters and Friedhelm Bögelsack. For the Berlin he was active until 1986, as a defender. In 1999, Halle Saale devil approached from the national league at Peter and asked if he wanted to once again lace up his skates for them. Dietmar Peters, then 49 years old, this request came after and met like old companions in the team of Dynamo times again, among other things, he played in Halle with Wolfgang Plotka, Harald Kuhnke, Rainer Patschinski and Thomas Graul. By the year 2001 Peters laced nor the skates for the Saale from Halle devil, with whom he a class climb higher every year. At World Championships (A and B group ) and Olympic Games wore Dietmar Peters 315 times the jersey of the GDR. According to various sources, there are some more games, but that have been officially so far accepted. Nevertheless, Dietmar Peters sole most capped player of DDR ice hockey.

Coach

In 1986 he moved to the junior level of the SC Dynamo Berlin. From September to October 1993 he formed a coaching duo with Klaus Schröder at EHC Berlin Polar Bears. This was to date his only coach station in the men's area. After this short intermezzo Peters went back to the junior level of polar bears. In the 2001 /02 season Dietmar Peters became German champion with his students of polar bears Juniors Berlin.
