DigiCube

K. K. DigiCube (Japanese株式会社 デジ キューブ, Kabushiki - gaisha Dejikyūbu ) was a Japanese company. It was from 1996 to 2003, when it was dissolved due to bankruptcy.

Foundation

DigiCube was founded on February 6, 1996 as a subsidiary of Square. Purpose of the company, it was primarily to distribute video games, but it also merchandising products were sold as books, toys and CDs. DigiCube thereby assumed the role of a wholesaler. In addition, it also appeared as a publisher of video game music.

First DigiCube was very successful and introduced new sales records. The highlight was this in 1998 with a turnover of 46.8 billion yen from the sale of eight million units.
