Dillon [ dɪlən ] is a municipality in the U.S. state of Colorado, located about 100 km west of Denver on Dillon Reservoir is named after her.

History

The original location ( Old Dillon ) was founded in the 19th century in a valley where three rivers meet. In order to secure the water supply of Denver, a dam was built and flooded the valley in 1963, making the Dillon Reservoir (also called Lake Dillon ) was born. In this period the city northeast of the original site was built. Partial building were treated as a whole and are now in the nahegelenen Silverthorne.

Attractions

In Dillon Schoolhouse Museum setting up an old school from 1883 is shown.

The Dillon Marina is home to the Dillon Yacht Club. He is considered the highest - almost 3000 m - Located yacht club in the world.
