Dimitris Pikionis

Dimitris Pikionis (Greek Δημήτρης Πικιώνης, * 1887 in Piraeus, Athens1968) was a Greek architect and landscape architect.

Life

Pikionis grew up as the son of a captain class family in Piraeus. From 1904 he studied at the Polytechnic, where he also attended the drawing classes of the painter Konstantinos Parthenis. His circle of friends consisted of artists such as Giannis Tsarouchis and Giorgio de Chirico. Pikionis also painted themselves, without, however, with his artistic work to go far back to the public.

Tsarouchis wrote about Pikionis, this "male with the pedestrian walkways architecture, without being picturesque ." The individual plates of the trails are designed as spolia, and can be read as long walkable work of art.
