Dina Cocea

Dina Cocea ( born November 27, 1912 in Bucharest, † October 28, 2008 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian actress.

Biography

The daughter of writer Nicolae Cocea and actress Floricăi Mille completed a study acting in Paris and was there in 1934 her theater debut. In her home country, she made her debut in January 1935 at the Theatre " Comedia " of Bucharest, in the play " Adevăratul Iacob " by George Timica in the role of the dancer Yvette.

Also in 1934 she made her debut as a film actress in the comedy of Reinhold Schünzel " La jeune fille d'une nuit" on the side of Käthe von Nagy and Adele Sandrock. 1939 following her first appearance in Romania as a film actress in the movie " O noapte de Pomina ". In addition to her acting career she was active 1952-1962 Dean of the Faculty of Theatre Studies at the University of Bucharest. During this time, she was several times representative of Romania at international congresses of the UN and UNESCO.
