Dinotopia

Dinotopia is the title of a picture book by American author James Gurney. It is a portmanteau word from dinosaurs and Utopia ( utopia ).

Content

On the island of Dinotopia dinosaurs and humans live together in peaceful harmony with each other a jointly created high culture. In contrast to the reality of the dinosaurs, both in a picture book as well as in the feature film partially talk, but always communicate with the people and take as in society as full members participate. The dinosaurs have also developed their own written language. The peacefulness and harmony is an essential part of dinotopischen culture.
