Diocese of Guiratinga

The diocese Guiratinga (Latin: Dioecesis Guiratingensis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Guiratinga in the state of Mato Grosso.

History

Pope Pius X founded the Territorialprälatur Registro do Araguaia on May 12, 1914 cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Cuiabá, where it was assumed as a suffragan.

On 27 May 1969, the Cathedra was moved from Registro do Araguaia to Guiratinga and took the name, Territorialprälatur Guiratinga on. With the bull Institutionis propositum it was collected on 3 October 1981 for the diocese.
