Diomedes Soter

Diomedes, often referred to as the Saviour ( Soter ), was an Indo - Greek king who is so far known only from his coins. He probably reigned only briefly, its territory was in the Hindu Kush. The approaches vary in its dating of research 115-90 BC

His coinage often show the Dioscuri, either on horseback or standing. The inscriptions are in Greek, but also in Kharoshthi. The coins show many monograms, comparable to those of Philoxenos so that both rulers were perhaps related or even followed one another.

There is a coin that was overprinted by Agathokleia and Straton I.. This may indicate rivalries of these rulers.
