Diprotodontidae

The Diprotodontidae are a family of New Guinea - Australian megafauna within the Vombatiformes. Animals belonging to this family, existed from the late Oligocene to late Pleistocene and were among the largest mammals bag of Earth's history.

General Classification

The Diprotodontidae divided into two subfamilies, the subfamily Diprotodontinae and the subfamily Zygomaturinae, named after its most famous representatives, Diprotodon and Zygomaturus. The Diprotodontidae family together with the family Palorchestidae forms the superfamily Diprotodontoidea.
