Director musices

Musical director, Latin music director, was a title of Kapellmeister primarily in European universities or cathedrals, sometimes at cathedral schools. The title is still in the universities in Sweden in use today. In Finland, the title refers to a special prize, which is awarded by the government.

Today directores musices are primarily responsible for the music at a university and are choral and / or orchestral conductor.
