Dismal Euphony
Dismal Euphony was a metal band from Norway, the different styles in their music combined, including Black Metal, Gothic Metal, Death Metal, traditional Norwegian and Classical.
Biography
1992 did in Stavanger bassist Ole K. Helgesen and drummer Kristoffer " Austrheim " Vold under the name " The Headless Children" together, who acted as Slayer and Kreator cover band. A year later included vocalist Erik Borgen and guitarist Kenneth Bergsagel. Then they changed their name to Carnal Tomb. Under this name, their music became more Black Metal -heavy. They managed, however, to include only a single song ( Black Funeral ).
The first official line-up under the name Dismal Euphony consisted Helgesen (bass / guitar / vocals), Austrheim (drums), Linn " Keltziva " Achern Tveit (vocals) and Elin Overskott (keyboards).
Published in 1995 Dismal Euphony their first demo called Spellbound. The demo aroused great interest throughout Europe. They soon got offers from record companies such as Nocturnal Art Productions, Malicious Records Napalm Records. The latter won the contract.
But this time as an EP - They released a demo in 1996 again. The first full-length album was Soria Moria Slott (1996). Frode Clausen took over in 1997 as a studio musician, the bass.
With their next album Autumn Leaves - The Rebellion of Tides they aroused the interest of Metal Blade Records and Nuclear Blast. Nuclear Blast won the race. Instead of Keltziva met Anja Natasha as a female singer to the band. Elin Overskott also left the band. In 2004 she died of a heroin overdose.
The first album with the new label was All Little Devils, which was released in 1999 and was produced by Waldemar Sorychta.
2000, the EP Lady Ablaze was released, which contains pieces from 1993 to 1997. Frode Clausen rose now finally as a solid bassist.
2001 came their last album Python Zero on the market. Then they broke up.
Ole Helgesen later took the name " Critical Mass" three demo songs, which were not published until the present time and were ready for a short time on the internet downloads.
Likewise, it held Kristoffer Vold and his band Mekanik that have an Internet presence there and keep ready three demo songs for download. The new album will come on the market in December 2007. His latest band is called Lydia Laska.
Frode Clausen went to Gehenna and Keltziva to Desspo Hallelujah, where she was, however, constrained only briefly. Your new band is called Cat Call. Erlend Casperson increased in 2006 at a Vile.
