Disney Professor of Archaeology

John Disney (1779-1857) founded in 1853 the Department of Archaeology at Cambridge University, which was named after him.

Today the site is connected to the donated in the 1990s, McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research. The chair was occupied with some of the most renowned British archaeologist and enjoys high reputation.
