Dispatch (band)

Dispatch is an independent band from Boston, Massachusetts. Stylistically easily categorized their music as a mixture of acoustic, rock, reggae, folk and funk.

History to 2004

Their beginnings made ​​the band under the name One Fell Swoop, because another band also had this name, they were forced to choose a new name, the " Dispatch" should read. Pete Francis ( née: Pete Heimboldshausen ), Brad Corrigan and Chad Urmston considered as founding members. In 2002 they separated and went their own way, because they could not agree on the further development of the band. Their shared career, she decided with the biggest open-air concert Independent Festival 2004 in Boston ( Hatch Shell). Dispatch: Zimbabwe

In January 2007, the band on their website and their MySpace page stated that they give a concert at Madison Square Garden in New York in July 2007. Since the tickets were sold out within a few hours, they decided to another concert the same weekend. This was also sold out so quickly that a third was added. This led to the three concerts on 13, 14 and 15 July. These three concerts were benefit concerts for Zimbabwe. It is estimated that over two million U.S. dollars came together that feed directly into the development aid of Zimbabwe. It was organized using the Dispatch Foundation and the Elias Foundation.

Band member Chad Urmston was in 1994 in Zimbabwe, where it has made ​​friends with a gardener named Elias. Thus, the Dispatch song Elias, which was the concept of the concerts in 2007 originated.

Dispatch Summer Tour 2011

2011 Dispatch announced a summer tour. With nine dates in June Dispatch will be touring in the United States. Dispatch EU / UK 2012

In December 2011, the band announced a short series of concerts in Switzerland and in the EU. On 20 March 2012, the band wanted therefore occur for the first time together in Europe.

The solo projects of the band members

  • Pete Francis began his solo career in the days of dispatch in 2001. Musically, the music is to be settled as a mixture of pop and rock.
  • Chad Urmston has after his time with the group State Radio Dispatch, which was previously incorporated under the name Flag of the Shiners 2002. According to his own their music is a mix of the group Rage Against the Machine and Bob Marley. Other band members are Mike Najarian (drums) and Chuck Fay ( bass).
  • Brad Corrigan remembered back to the acoustic roots of Dispatch. His style indicates a quiet, melodic acoustic music. Meanwhile, a solid cast Braddigan the group has formed: Brad Corrigan (vocals, guitar), Rinaldo de Jesus (drums) and Tiago ( bass).
