State Radio is a rock band that was founded by Chad Urmston in 2002 after the dissolution of Dispatch.

Band History

The band was previously called the Flag of the Shiners, but until they renamed State Radio ( this was the name of the song, which is now called Democracy in child). After three EPs and a demo CD Us Against the Crown was released in October 2005. On 17 April 2007, they released another EP, titled The Barn Sessions. There almost exclusively already known and published songs are heard. However, most of them are in a different version available, for example the song Camilo.

Camilo is about a U.S. soldier who was convicted for his involvement in Iraq to nine months' imprisonment, as he defended himself against further bets and thus violates his contract with the military. On the homepage of State Radio is a fan -created by a music video is to the song.

State Radio songs are predominantly a mixture of roots reggae with rock. Singer and band leader Chad Urmston is almost the only songwriter of the band, but the band members Chuck Fay and Mike Najarian come through singing are becoming increasingly common. State Radio is also known for their live performances. Instead of new songs to perfect in order to then audition in front of the audience, they will be played and directly improves live.

In September 2006, they were the first time in England, the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany go. In addition to concerts in London, Berlin, Amsterdam and Cologne, and Stockholm, Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg were represented. In summer 2007 they played in Germany at the Southside Festival and at the Hurricane Festival. In September 2007, they were back in Germany and England go. March 2008 they have given over 10 concerts in Germany and Austria.

On September 19, 2007 she released her second album, Year Of The Crow.

On 3 November 2008 began in the Long View Farm Studios in North Brookfield, Massachusetts recorded their third studio album Let It Go, which was released on 29 September 2009.

For the beginning of 2010 with a titled Lefty Rides Again tour is planned by the United States. Subsequently, State Radio will give a total of 11 concerts in Europe between 17 March and 1 April.

On August 28, they played at Rock am See Konstanz and thus the anniversary at Rock am See ( 25 years) as a support band Die Toten Hosen.
