Dissection

The dissection (Latin DISSECTIO of dissecare " cut " ) describes

  • Dissection (surgery ) surgical removal of soft tissue or lymph nodes ( lymph node ),
  • Dissection ( artery): the splitting of arterial vessel wall layers. Arterial dissection is usually caused by a tear in the inner vessel wall ( intima ) with subsequent hemorrhage between the intima and media layers. See also aortic dissection
  • Dissection ( joint) (now little used ) at a dislocation or dislocation of joint injuries (Latin ), in which the joint head jumps out of the socket and no longer returns to its original position. A sub- form is the subluxation - here the articular surfaces are still partially opposite. They usually goes hand in hand with bands strain and overstretching of the joint capsule.
  • Dissection ( bone ): Replacing an existing cartilage and bone fragment ( osteochondral fragment) of a joint surface in osteochondritis dissecans or Ahlbaeck's disease is also called dissection, the detached fragment ( colloquially the joint mouse ) is called dissecate.
  • Dissection ( autopsy ): (now little used ) in the Latin form DISSECTIO a post mortem (also section ).
