Dissopsalis is an extinct genus hyena -like land mammals of the order Creodonta ( Urraubtiere ). Dissopsalis is one of only four still occurring in the Miocene genera of the family of Hyaenodontidae.

One of the two known species, D. pyroclasticus, lived in the middle Miocene in what is now Kenya. D. carnifex had, however, in the middle and late Miocene its range in present-day Pakistan, India and China. This species is the only Creodont that has been shown to the end of this age survived and was displaced only about 8 million years ago by the predators.
