District 11 (Zurich)

The circle 11 is the northernmost and most populous county of the city of Zurich. It includes the 1934 eingemeindeten in the neighborhoods Oerlikon, Seebach and Affoltern. The lying in Glattal city circuits 11 and 12 are together often referred to as Zurich North.

History

The circuit 11 is formed in the second annexation of 1934. Originally, the circuit 11 comprised the former municipalities Affoltern, Oerlikon, Seebach and Schwamendingenstrasse, so all four eingemeindeten communities of Glatttals. During a revision of the cities Schwamendingenstrasse 1971 reallocated to a separate, newly created circuit 12 and divided by the Statistical Office of the City of Zurich on the drawing board in three quarters. For the territory of the city of Zurich since been administratively changed the classification of 1971.
