Dithiocarbamate

(Also called Dithiourethane ) as dithiocarbamates, esters and salts ( or derivatives thereof ) referred to the dithiocarbamic and are di- sulfur analogs of carbamates. Their general structure is R -N ( R '' )-C (= S )-S- R ', where R, R' and R '' are removable residues. But they are often used in agriculture as fungicides, herbicides and insecticides, in the chemical industry as a vulcanization accelerator. They are generally poorly soluble in water but readily soluble in organic solvents. They result from the reaction of carbon disulfide with ammonia and primary and secondary amines.
