Ditmir Bushati

Ditmir Sulejman Bushati ( born March 24, 1977 in Shkodër ) is an Albanian politician (PS). Since 2013 he is Foreign Minister in the Cabinet under Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Education and political career

Bushati graduated in 1999 from the University of Tirana a law degree with very good results. Thereafter, he obtained in 2001 a Master in International Law at Leiden University. Next he formed in 2003 continued at the Academy of American and International Law in Dallas (Texas, USA ) and in 2006 at Harvard University.

Bushati has worked in various areas in the judiciary, in the administration and in the Albanian government, including in 2001 at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, 2002, the Albanian Minister's Office from 2002 to 2003 and in the Albanian Constitutional Court in Tirana.

Between 2007 and 2009 he was represented as a deputy of the Socialist Party in the City Council of Tirana. Then he was elected to Parliament and took over the office of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for European Integration.

On 31 July 2013 were the chairman of the Socialists, Edi Rama, announced that in his future cabinet Ditmir Bushati Foreign Minister will.

Private life

Ditmir Bushati is married to Aida Bushati. The two are the parents of Hera and Martin. Ditmir Bushatis father was Sulejman Bushati, Secretary of the Committee of the Party of Labour of Albania in Qark Kukes.

Bushati speaks fluent English and Italian, and can become brittle French.
