Divinization (Christian)

Theosis (also: theiosis, theopoiesis, theosis, Greek: Θεωσις, meaning divinization or deification or divine Machung ) called in the Orthodox Churches, the Eastern Churches and the Eastern Catholic Churches the salvation of the unholiness to participate in the life of God. The theosis is at the center of Orthodox spirituality.

According to this view is the holy life of God, which receives the believer in Jesus through the Holy Spirit, expressed as follows: It begins with the efforts of this life, grow through the experiences of believers through the knowledge of God and finds its fulfillment in the resurrection of the believer when the power of sin and death are completely overcome by God's life and lose their power over the believers forever.

This view is historically fundamental to the Christian understanding both the West and the East, as it was developed directly from the teachings of the apostles and of early Christianity in relation to the life of faith.
