Diwan (poetry)

As a sofa or divan (Persian دیوان, Arabic ديوان ) is referred to in the literature of the Middle East, a collection of poems on a particular topic.

The term derived from the Persian term sofa Dibir from, which means write or writer means.

One of the most Diwane is the Diwan of the Persian poet Hafez, and it inspired the West-Eastern Divan by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
