Dizin

Dizin is an Iranian ski resort north of Tehran. It is located in the Alborz Mountains near the Damavand and is the most important ski resort of the country.

Dizin was founded in 1969. It is characterized by a particular quality of the snow that is on the high altitude (up to 3600 meters) and attributed the aligned towards the north slopes. The ski season lasts from December to May

The highest ski lift reaches a height of 3,600 m, Dizin one of the 40 highest ski resorts in the world.

The town has two hotels, 19 cottages and five restaurants, as well as private apartments. However, many visitors do not stay overnight, since the place is only two hours drive from Tehran.

In the summer is operated in Dizin Grasski. In 1996 the first international competition was held. 2005 was the venue for the Dizin Grass Skiing World Cup and 2010 Grass Skiing World Youth Championship.
