Djiboutian constitutional referendum, 1992
A constitutional referendum was held on 4 September 1992 in the East African state of Djibouti. The new constitution should introduce a multi-party system in the country for the first time since independence. A second question to the electors concerned a rule according to which the number of political parties should be limited to four. Both proposals were accepted by more than 97.9 % of voters with a voter turnout of 75.2 %. Then, the first multi-party elections were held in the same year.
