Dmitry of Pereslavl

Dimitri I., Dmitri Alexandrovich Perejaslawski (Russian: Дмитрий Александрович Переяславский; * 1250, † 1294 ) was a son of Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky Yaroslavich and was appointed by this prince of Novgorod in 1258.

Life

After the death of his father he was relieved of his subjects of this title. After his successor Yaroslav III. had died, but he received the Principality back. After the death of Grand Prince Vasily Yaroslavich 1276 Dimitri I. ascended the grand ducal throne, but found in his brother Andrei ( II ) a bitter enemy and was sold by him with the help of the Tartars. Later he gained the throne again, claiming under constant hostility.
