Dobbertiner See

The approximately 5.4 -mile Dobbertiner lake lies in the Sternberg Lake District, north of Goldberg in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The elongated in east-west direction Rinnensee is a maximum of one kilometer wide. It is shared by several projects into the lake peninsulas in four distinctive parts ( eastern part, body, Jager fir trees and the far west of the bay Zidderich ). The lake is drained by the Mildenitz. At present in Dobbertin drain a fish ladder exists.

Description

On the north side there is the eponymous place Dobbertin with the monastery and the associated parking. The lake is situated in the conservation area "Medium Mildenitztal " in the nature park Nossentin / Schwinzer Heath, where the environment is used for agriculture and forestry. Right on the water offers a camping site overlooking the monastery ensemble. The average depth is 4.8 meters. On the north side there are also the small settlements " Helmsrade " and " Jager Tannen". The western part of the lake lies within the municipality Techentins and the eastern part of the municipality Dobbertin. The south bank of the lake adjacent to the territory of the town Goldberg. The lake has excellent water quality. From Dobbertin out there are organized lake cruises, offering the only approved motor boat.

History

The Dobbertiner lake was mentioned in a document in the expansion of Dobbertiner monastery's possessions in 1237 as Jawir lake. In the deed the Lord operated to Werle and Rostock Nicholas the boundaries of the monastery area, including ... the creek Milnitz ( Mildenitz ) from Jawir See ( Dobbertiner lake ) to the lake Wostrowitz ( the drained Klädener and Dobbiner lake ) and on to the Bach Bresenitze ( Bresenitz ) .... South of the lake, the castle wall is Rieck Hagen. He was first mentioned on February 12 and March 17, 1296.
