Doll Tor

Doll Tor is a small stone circle near Birchover, west of the Stanton Moor in Peak District, Derbyshire. The stone circle dates back to the Bronze Age and consists of six stones that are high up to one meter. Right next to the stone circle you will find remains of Cairns.

Thomas Bateman excavated the stone circle in 1852. A second excavation took place 1931-1933 by JP Heathcote. Three stones were damaged and repaired with cement. 1993 have changed the positions of the stones and added new stones unknown. In 1994, the previous state was prepared by English Heritage and the Peak National Park Authority back.
