Dolly (French band)

Dolly is a rock band from Nantes in France.

History

Dolly was founded in 1991 by Thierry Lacroix and Emmanuelle Monet. Together with two friends - Michaël Chamberlin and the then 15-year old Nicolas Bonnière - they were known up to their eponymous debut album, first as Dolly and C °. Their music is evident from the preference of Monet and Lacroix for English and American music and is influenced by music greats such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Blondie and especially PJ Harvey.

After working with the English producer Clive Martin mid-1990s, the band released in 1999, became famous especially due to their live performances to date, their album Un jour de rêves, followed by the Plein Air 2002, in which Dolly musical again oriented their first album.

Was published in 2004, the latest step album of the band called Tous des stars. On 25 May 2005 accident bassist Michaël Chamberlin in a car accident fatal, whereupon the remaining three band members ended their performance and studio work immediately.

In 2008, Emmanuelle Monet and Nicolas Bonnière have a CD called Rendez -Vous, which continues the embossed Dolly style of music released under the band name " Manu ".
