Dôme du Goûter

The Dôme du Goûter is a 4,304 meter high mountain in the Mont Blanc massif. He is on French soil in the Haute- Savoie. 200 meters south of its summit runs below the border between France and Italy.

Location

The ice and firnbedeckte mountain about 2 km in a straight line to the northwest of Mont Blanc. About him frequently committed Normal leads to the main summit via the Bosses ridge, as an independent summit goal he has little meaning. His little pronounced ridges and edges have a maximum slope of 45 °. Adjacent peaks are in the east-northeast of Mont Maudit with 4,465 meters of altitude, in the southeast of Mont Blanc and Aiguille de Bionnassay in the West ( 4,052 m).

Base and easiest ascent

As a base for climbing on the regular Refuge du Goûter serves on 3,817 meters above sea level. From there, the path leads in the French Difficulty PD ( peu difficile, German: little difficult ) in 3 to 4 hours on the northwest ridge to the summit of Dôme du Goûter. A further 2 to 3 hours should be scheduled for the continuation of the tour over the Bosses ridge to Mont Blanc peak. In particular, ski touring on the Mont Blanc of the Dôme du Goûter is also mounted from the Refuge des Grands Mulets over its north ridge.

On the Italian side of the refuge Rifugio Francesco Gonella serves as a base.
