Domenico Mogavero

Domenico Mogavero ( born March 31, 1947 in Castelbuono, Palermo, Italy), Bishop of Mazara del Vallo.

Biography

Domenico Mogavero was ordained priest on 12 July 1970. On 22 February 2007 he was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Bishop of Mazara del Vallo. On 24 March 2007, he received episcopal consecration in the Cathedral of Palermo by Cardinal Camillo Ruini. On Palm Sunday, April 1, 2007 Domenico Mogavero was introduced in the Cathedral of Mazara del Vallo in his office.

In the Sicilian bishops' conference Domenico Mogavero is a delegate for economic receipt of the church, cultural heritage and religious buildings

Domenico Mogavero demanded in July 2009 Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, due to his way of life publicly to resign; He said Mr Berlusconi should " consider whether it is appropriate to withdraw in the interest of the country".

In June 2011, he was appointed Apostolic Visitor for the Diocese of Trapani.
