Dominic Hubbard, 6th Baron Addington

Bryce Dominic Hubbard, 6th Baron Addington ( born August 24, 1963) is a British politician of the Liberal Democrats and peer.

Life and career

Hubbard was born on 24 August 1963 as the son of James Hubbard, 5th Baron Addington and Alexandra Patricia Millar.

He attended the Hewett School in Norwich and studied at the University of Aberdeen 's history. He graduated in 1988 with a Master of Arts.

Hubbard is president ( chairman ) of Microlink PC ( UK) Ltd.. He is also Vice-President ( Vice - President) of the British Dyslexia Association, the UK Sports Association and the Lakenham Hewitt Rugby Club.

He is one of the Hereditary Peerage Association currently not on. In November 2008, he attended the Rugby Expo.

Membership in the House of Lords

With the death of his father in 1982 he inherited the title of Baron Addington and then the associated seat in the House of Lords. On 1 July 1986 he took his seat for the first time, the youngest peer at the time of 22 years. His inaugural address was delivered on March 4, 1987.

As subjects of political interest he calls on the website of the House of Lords education, prison reform, disability and sport. He is dyslexic and regularly speaks about issues related to disability.

From 1994 to 2009 he was the Liberal Democrat spokesman on work and social services / pensions and disability, and from 1995 to 2010 for Culture, Media and Sport.

From 2002 to 2010 Hubbard Whip was the Liberal Democrats, of which from 2005 to 2010 as deputy executive Whip ( Deputy Chief Whip ). From 2007 to 2010 he was the spokesman for defense.

Hubbard is one of 90 elected Hereditary Peers, currently belonging to the House of Lords. He landed in the choice at No. 3 of three terms, which were awarded to his party. The other two were Conrad Russell, 5th Earl Russell, and Eric Lubbock, 4th Baron Avebury. 2002 Hubbard was chairman of the Sports Group, since 2003 he has chaired the Rugby Union Group held.

Hubbard was present regularly in the period from 2001 when in session.

Family

He is married to Elizabeth Anne Morris since 1999. They have no children.

Presumptive heir ( Heir Presumptive ) of his title is the younger brother, the Hon Michael Hubbard.
