Dominick Cirillo

Dominick "Quiet Dom" Cirillo ( born July 4, 1929) is an American mobster and was head of the Genovese family.

Cirillo has been like Vincent Gigante, a boxer and was also supervised by Thomas Eboli as a manager, which he found his entry into the criminal underworld of La Cosa Nostra.

He received his first criminal conviction in 1952 for involvement in drug trafficking and was always observed near the next leader Vincent " Chin" Gigante, the 1982 Anthony Salerno replaced after he had suffered a stroke ( still Salerno was in the following years as the alleged boss of the Genovese family in 1986 sentenced to 100 years in prison ).

However, Gigante 1997 even went to prison. Instead of a successor to a committee came together, which was known as the "Administration" and led by Cirillo. This Cirillo was the representative in transactions and agreements with the other clans of the Mafia, particularly with other " families " in New York City.

In Gigantes death in December 2005 Cirillo had the silent and quiet style of leadership entered the title of " Quiet Don " and since then he can be seen as the official leader of the Genovese family.

However, a heart attack in 1998 could have weakened his position. Since Dominick Cirillo was sentenced on 18 October 2005 with four other high-ranking Genovese members (Lawrence "Little Larry " Dentico, John " Johnny Sausage " Barbato, Deniz " Deme " Meissner, Anthony " Tico " Antico ) to 46 months in prison, presented with incarcerated on 3 March 2006, the leadership question in the Genovese clan again.

Nicholas Cirillo, his son did not come into question; this was disappeared since 9 May 2004. Three weeks later, while his abandoned car was found, his body is missing but to date each track. In any case, his father had intended him for the succession in the Bonanno family, and therefore the investigators suspect whose head Vincent " Vinny Gorgeous" Basciano and his Caporegime Dominick Cicale.

The "Acting Boss " of the Genovese family is either Mario Gigante, born in 1923, the elder brother of Vincent Gigante, or Daniel Leo, born in 1941, an inconspicuous gangster but according to Jerry Capecis Ganglandnews.com in the past initiation ceremonies has led to new members.
