Domiziana Giordano

Domiziana Giordano ( born September 4, 1959 in Rome) is an Italian artist and actress.

Domiziana Giordano grew up in an artistic family and developed an early interest in art and film. She studied at various theater schools, including at the Accademia nazionale d' arte drammatica " Silvio D' Amico " in Rome and the New York Film Academy. After she finished studying, she worked as a photographer and assistant director.

Her first appearance as an actress she had in the movie My Friends by Mario Monicelli. In 1983, she played the female lead role in Andrei Tarkovsky's film Nostalghia.

Soon she got lead roles in films by other internationally recognized directors like Nicholas Roeg, Jean -Luc Godard, Mauro Bolognini, Neil Jordan, Ken McMullen and many others. On the Fantasporto Festival 1986, she was honored for her role as Leon Trotsky's daughter Zinaida Volkova in the film by Ken McMullen Zina. She also appeared in films such as Nouvelle Vague (1989, among others, Alain Delon ) by Jean -Luc Godard, Interview with the Vampire ( 1994) by Neil Jordan or Il quaderno della spesa (2003) by Tonino Cervi.

In addition to her work in the film industry is also known for her commitment as a photographer. She was nominated on the photography festival Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in Arles in 2002.
