Movie reviews

"Forum", Berlin, 27/ 1957: " About this serene contemporary film DEFA laughs to much and welcoming; sometimes but it is also very quiet in the auditorium ... the silence that triggers this unusual strip is sometimes, artistic intention. Once it does, then we often approach one of his finest moments. Because that's the special thing about him: He is not only strong when tears are laughter, he is also, if there are tears of emotion, no sentimental emotion, of course, but a real and human emotion. ' Forget My Traudel ' is from the first to the last meter interesting, true to life and full of deep humor; it is an excellent film. "

Encyclopedia of the International Films, 1995: ". A fairly entertaining comedy with considerable acting skills, but also some stylistic inconsistencies and artistic shortcomings "

Film editors 3sat, January 20, 2006: " With ease and charm Maetzig follows in " Forget My Traudel not " great American role models and projects beyond qualitatively much the comparable West German productions of the time. With Marilyn Monroe quotes, obstinate charm and lively dialogues confident in her film debut, the young Eva- Maria Hagen, mother of Nina Hagen. "
